Art Event [Kyoto International Movie Festival Collaboration Plan]
On this latest occasion, the third-floor gallery of Tenbusu Naha will serve as the venue for two gala presentations. The first is the airing of the 4K visual documentary of Shuri Saga 2017 Autumn (artistic collaboration between Okinawa Prefectural University of Arts and Kyoto Saga Prefectural University of Arts). That will be accompanied by a show of artwork by students from Okinawa Prefectural University of Arts.
Commemorating the milestone 10th All Things Great in All the Islands Festival, the exhibit will address the keynote theme of “Futuristic Creations Conceived in Times Gone By.”
As a stage that unveils this long-established collaboration plan, this event will demonstrate how students mobilize the medium of artwork to come to grips with such theme-based exhibition formats. Reaching beyond mere artistic creation, it will also appraise their skills in project development, curation and other domains.
Okinawa Prefectural University of Arts Professor Ken Nakamoto and Kyoto International Movie Festival Art Planner Kenta Oka are currently working with students in the capacity of supervisors, advancing the challenging task of formulating the exhibition platform and selecting the specific works to be displayed.
